Our Ferry Plan calls for building four ferry vessels designed to meet the shallow water conditions of Tampa Bay. These vessels will be passenger ferries, not car ferries, capable of traveling quickly and safely across the bay. All ferries will feature front-loading designs, enabling fast and easy passenger loading and unloading. The front-loading feature will be particularly helpful to patrons using wheelchairs, bicycles and strollers.
Our small vessel fleet will include a single, larger 350-passenger ferry vessel, and three standard 149-passenger vessels. The fleet mix could change as the Ferry Project advances.
All vessels will have a concession area, on-board restroom facilities, and will be fully climate-controlled. The vessels will be designed to safely travel throughout the Tampa Bay area in regularly occurring local weather conditions.
